Other Social Events and Social Trends

To continue the observation of trends we will turn our attention to American professional football and the USA corporate world. The football leagues eventually promoted African Americans into head coaching positions, but yet it took years and years before they would have winning seasons. There were many reasons for this failure. But in general they were not given the support by players, assistant coaches and management in the front office. They were set up to fail. As these business organizations worked to make changes within, is when these African American coaches began to win. However, as business organizations they have a long way to go to become stable.

In the corporate world, women were placed in similar positions to fail - also known as the glass ceiling. Women were intentionally placed in divisions without proper training, support staff nor support from the main office to be successful. This was the glass ceiling. Few women succeeded and it took many years for these few woman to get to a level of corporate success.

And today we are now faced with the two leading candidates for president as being a woman and an African American man. These people are just being setup to fail. Because after the first term of the next president, the country will be faced with the reality of mounting debt from social security entitlements and less negotiating power in world politics. These two candidates represent socially as the signal, for “Katy bar the door and run”. If the past history of women and African Americans are any indication of the future, it is clear that the US economy will have a long dark period before it can begin to climb out of its economic hole. But then again, it may not be able to because global politics and the “old school capitalist” have their other objectives to maintain the status quo and to complete their objectives to transfer money from the baby boomers to China and India; and to set the USA backwards to prevent any future threat to their plans. As well they are planning to set it up so that there are scapegoats like a woman or African American president.
